What is Sous Vide?

Pronounced “sue-veed”, it means “under vacuum” in French. This style of cooking has you submerging your vacuum-sealed bag of meat into hot water at a certain temperature for a certain amount of time. It is commonly used for steaks in fancy restaurants. With sous vide machines widely available nowadays, you can now bring those same results into your home for less!

What do I need for sous vide cooking?

There are several things you will need to start sous vide cooking:

  • Seasoning (i.e. Salt & Pepper)

  • Your Protein (i.e. steak or chicken)

  • Sous Vide Machine

  • Pot or Container

  • Vacuum Sealer *optional, but recommended*

  • Vacuum Sealer Bags

What food can I cook with sous vide?

There are several things you will need to start sous vide cooking:

How to cook steak using sous vide?

With the Zing Sous Vide Cooker:
1.    Season your meat and put in vacuum sealed bag
2.    Place into Zing Sous Vide Cooker
3.    Choose temperature & time based on desired “doneness” of meat
4.    After cooking is done, take out meat from bag
5.    Pat down meat with paper towel until dry
6.    Sear meat on all sides until you’ve achieved desired browning
7.    Enjoy!
